Helped a poor student from Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu to continue his education

Jan 22nd 2009 :

Thanks to Mr. Karthikeyan, Kumudam reporter. He called me from Ariyalur and told about a student Mr. Arun kumar needs some financial help to continue his diplomo course and handover phone to Mrs. Sherin, who is running a social group called VELICHAM in Arilaur.

She helping around 150 poor students in that area. Mostly from very poor financial background, first generation kids in any family to get education and some orphans/semi orphans. There was an article about her in “Aval Vikatan” – Tamil Weekly.

 

We spoke to student Arun Kumar directly and cross checked his background through YHM (Young Helping Minds) and Concept India.

 

Students Details :

– Student Name is M. Arun kumar, S/o Mr. Muniyan from Mutuvancheri, Ariyalur District.

– He scored 305 in 10th std and 700 in +2

– With the help of Velicham Sherin, he joined Diplomo (EEE) in Sree Renga Polytechnic, Siriganur,Trichy. Admin office.No.5, Renga complex, 11nd floor, Near Ramba – Oorvasi Theatre, Trichy-620002.

– He is from very poor family background (parents are coolie)
– Arun kumar needs Rs. 9000 for his second semester fee (He joined second year directly)

– No banks are providing educational loan for Diplomo courses

– Apart from that, he needs hostel fee and mess fee

INDIA SUDAR wished to suppor this student mainly he is the first child from his family tree getting education and going up college level.

INDIA SUDAR circulated the above information to all of our OCP members (Open Charity Platform) and we got very encouraging response from Build Future India and Sree Kavithalayam Foundation

 

25th Jan 2009 :  We came to know through Sherin and student Arun kumar that the college management was not allowing student Arun kumar to attend classes until he pays the fee.

 

27th Jan 2009 : We discussed with college management to allow him to attend classes and we promised them to send cheque before 30th Jan 2009, but they didn’t agree for the same.

 

31st Jan 2009 – FEE PAID AND ATTENDING CLASSES : Finally, India Sudar sent cheque for Rs. 9000.00 to college directly and sent through KUMUDAM reporter Mr. Karthikeyan. Student Arun Kumar collected the same and paid his fee on 31st Jan 2009 morning.

The happy news is that he started going to college from 31st Jan 2009 morning (saturday).

 

Funding : BUILD FUTURE INDIA (Rs.7,500.00) and Sree Kavithalayam Foundation (Rs. 1500.00).

 

India Sudar received all the fee receipts, signed project reports and other proof information from student Arun Kumar. He expressed his sincere thanks and regards to all.

 

India Sudar would track his studies until his course completion and update you all.
