On 20th Nov, AP-IS team (Ravi, Nageswara Rao, Chandar Shekar and Vinay) visited an Oral school for deaf, East marredpally, Sec-bad to celebrate Children’s Day celebration.
About Oral School for Deaf:
One of the well know oral and residential school in Hyderabad. Here from pre-school to 10th standard education is covered. Intially school was started by
group of parents whose kids were special kids. They want to their children to learn speak like any other child not sign language, so they opened this school.
They are not getting an support from Government apart from local residents and few open minded people.
About the event:
This being 3rd big event in Hyderbad. It was a special event on a special day for Special Kids. Like any other event we had some plans planned for the day with
consulatation with School prinicpal and teachers. We started with Drawing competition, followed by skit from kids speading awarness about unity in diversity (a stand out performance).
Then followed by copying writing and last but not least sports events like running race and skipping.
All the kids participated and showed lot of energy on Sunday. We winduped up the day with distributing gifts and sweets to students and teachers.
Final touch to the event was we learning sign language from the kids.
One more team went to one orphanage near Jagadirgutta. They didn’t allowed to take any photos.
