Visit to St. Charles Convent, Chilakaluripeta, Guntur (DT). Andhra Pradesh

I would like to share the report of St. Charles Convent, Chilakaluripeta, Guntur (DT), A.P.
Date pf visit : 18th June, 2009, at 11.00 A.M
Place of visits: St. Charles Convent, Chilakaluripeta,
RCM Primary School, Chilakaluripeta.
RCM Primary School, Thuralapadu Village, Yadallapadu Mandal.
St. Charles Convent was established in 1968 by St. Charles sisters association there head office in Chennai. Here Sr. Sagaya Mary was the Director and Administrator of all these schools.
St. Charles Convent conducting health camps to the students. They also conducting medical dispensary in campus. Total 2173 students are studding in this institution there is also a junior college for this institution.
Sr. Sagaya Mary, Head of the institution providing Education, books, uniforms & school fees to the poor children form the nearer villages. Last year Sr. Sagaya Mary requested IndiaSudar support for 75 girl children but, this year the number was increased to 163 children all these children are studding  in RCM Priam schools.
Most of the children came form below poverty line and there parents are coolies, pullers, farmers etc., and more over some farmers are committing suicide due to loss of crop recently. they Don’t have any capacity to provide the education for their children and they are forcing to their children to go as daily labourers.

3.School Fees
Purpose of visit
1. To know about the school and what are the requirements they need.
2. To interact with children.
3. To understand the educational programme run by this institution under the guidance of Sr. Sagaya Mary.
Things Observed
1. There are around 92 students are studding and 5 teachers are working here. 1st class to 5th class is running in R.C.M Primary school, Chilakaluriopeta. Here evening learning programme is also conducting in evening learning programme  they are giving some snacks to the students.
2. Nearly 40 students are studding in RCM Primary school here teaching staff is only 2 members they are planning for deploying teachers due to funds they are waiting this school is 8kms from chilkaluripeta, this school is located in Thuralapadu village, Yadlappadu mandal, Guntur (DT).
3. Remaining 31 students are studding in St. Charles Convent, Chilakaluripeta, Guntur (DT)
4. From last 3 years Sr. Sagaya Mary conducting this programme very effectively due to  lack of funds and donors, from last 1 year implementing this programme is became a burden to Sr. Sagaya Mary  at the age of 60+ Sr. Sagaya Mary doing tremendous job for education to poor children still this programme is running but they are seeking for donors and supporters for this programme. This organisation is not getting funds from Government of Andhra Pradesh & Government of India.
They are collecting nominal fees from the students this is the only the purpose of staff wages and maintenance of the schools.
I ask about the total fees collected by the student and books what you need for this academic give me details they told me they will give there proposal completely on Saturday to me later i will submit this proposal to India Sudar
