Financial support required for a poor boy in Tumkur Taluk.

9-JUN-2007
Bangalore, KA.

Hi Ravi and Friends,

Last Saturday (9th June) myself, Raghu, Ram and Prashanth had been to Bellavi to meet Mahesh and check out his interest in continuing studies.

Mahesh is very interested in studies below are some of details we collected.

1) He had opted for PCHB in PUC and scored 62%.
2) After completing his PUC is tried to get some free seat in Govt college but was unable to get through.
3) He is the only son and financially very very weak. Just able to get 2 meals for the day.
4) He gave up after trying for 1 – 2 months to get the free seat and joined one garment company to work. But as he says that he was very much interested in studies he left the job and continued to check out any options for free seat.
5) Till 12th std, his grandfather used to take care of studies but after his death there was no one take care of his studies.

He has checked out some options in Tumkur college as well as in Bangalore National college.

In the Tumkur college fees is 8K per/year in govt and accomodation is taken care by college.

Bangalore National College fees is around 8K to 9K per/year and accomodation is not there.

Last date for admission in National College is coming friday i.e. 15th June.

We suggested him to go for the National College because of below reasons:

1) Options of getting job after college are more.
2) Can go for part time job where he can bare his day today expenses and send some money to home also.
3) Exposure to city env which will help him to grow further.

We have asked Mahesh to come down to Bangalore tomorrow (12th June) so that we can do some thing in terms of his college adminssion.

Above is what we felt. Please let me know in case any further suggestions are there.

Thanks & Regards,
Vinod, vinod.murgod@gmail.com
