Dear Friends,
Today(29-Oct-2006) I have visited to Indira Gandhi International Academy, #10/2, Yelahanka Jakkur Road, Jakkur, Bangalore – 560 064 and discussed with Mr.Anangan(+91-80-2856-3430), Administrator for this School and Mr.Chandran (+91-98806-56502) – Teacher.
This School was set up in Bangalore in 1990 with funding by Bright Society, a non- governmental organisation that works with Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu, and the Karnataka Government. This school registers under Karnataka Stat Board and they have 80G tax exemption for donation also.
Currently this school provides Shelter and Education(1st standard to 10th) for 190 Students and they have 8 teachers and 5 non teaching staffs. Currently Bright Society not in the position of supporting this school. Some of the local people and software companies supporting this school for provisional. ISKAN provides only Lunch for this students and it’s internally funded by Rotary Club. Even they are not able to pay salary for their teacher for last 2 months. The worst part is they don’t have power supply for last 4 years and they are using only Solar lamp.
I am listing some of the important Requirement for these Students:
* Education Stationary
* Salary for Teacher
* Provisional
* Uniform
Hope we can support this students in educational perspective.
