visited to Indira Gandhi International Academy Jakkur Bangalore

Jakkur, Bangalore, KA.

Dear Friends,

Today(29-Oct-2006) I have visited to Indira Gandhi International Academy, #10/2, Yelahanka Jakkur Road, Jakkur, Bangalore – 560 064 and discussed with Mr.Anangan(+91-80-2856-3430), Administrator for this School and Mr.Chandran (+91-98806-56502) – Teacher.

This School was set up in Bangalore in 1990 with funding by Bright Society, a non- governmental organisation that works with Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu, and the Karnataka Government. This school registers under Karnataka Stat Board and they have 80G tax exemption for donation also.

Currently this school provides Shelter and Education(1st standard to 10th) for 190 Students and they have 8 teachers and 5 non teaching staffs. Currently Bright Society not in the position of supporting this school. Some of the local people and software companies supporting this school for provisional. ISKAN provides only Lunch for this students and it’s internally funded by Rotary Club. Even they are not able to pay salary for their teacher for last 2 months. The worst part is they don’t have power supply for last 4 years and they are using only Solar lamp.

I am listing some of the important Requirement for these Students:

* Education Stationary
* Salary for Teacher
* Provisional
* Uniform

Hope we can support this students in educational perspective.

Athivaakkam, TN.

Dear Friends,

1. We (myself and Athitha Nadarajan.S (TN-IS Team Lead)) visited to Athivaakkam Village(60 Km from Chennai), Oothukottai TK, Thiruvalluvar (District) on 15/Oct/2006 to study about this village through Hindu College NSS team and two of this college Professors(Mr.M.Jawaharlal Nehru and Mr.S.Dhanasekar).

2. HINDU COLLEGE, Chennai NSS team executed 10 days special camp at Athivakkam Village to create awareness and to improve basic requirement. Already they completed 2 programs in last 2 years and they completed following activities. They are planning to have one more camp on Jan-2007, after they will move to some other village.

Medical Camp, Temple Cleaning Project, White Washing School Building, Numbering Each House , IODINT Salt Program, Manual Work like Clean Road & School ground, Veterinary Camp, Villu Pattu to Create Awareness
3. Dependent Village & Total Number of families:

  • Athivaakkam – 250 Families
  • Aalapakkam – 450 families
  • Kilapakkam and Pethanayakanpattu – 700 families
  • Thandumedu – 300 families

4. Mr.Bakthavachalam.M(Athivaakkam Panchayat Leadr): We had discussion with him and visited to complete village to see the people and environment. This person highly interested to change this village and provide basic facility and he succeeded on this also. This village having government school upto 10 th standard. Last year 43 students passed out from 10 th standard but only 9 of them went to secondary education, remaining all students dropouts.

5. Prof. M.Jawaharlal Nehru(NSS Programme Officer) and Prof. S.Dhanasekar(NSS Programme Officer): We visited this village through this Two professors and some of the college students. They already stream line somed of the activities in this village. I am just thinking IF we have this type of the teachers and professors in our schools and college, then really we can elevate our villages easily through our students itself!!!

6. Now we are analyzing how we can educate this village student through India Sudar, Currently we don’t have any plan for WHAT HOW WHEN we are going to support this village. We will keep update on this Village IS Project.

Visit to Adi Dravida Samooga Sevagar Sangam Poor & Orphan Home

09th October 2006
Chennai, TN.

Dear Friends,

I have visited Adi Dravida Samooga Sevagar Sangam Poor & Orphan Home at Tondiarpet, Chennai on 9th October 2006. I review the Tuition classes arranged by us for 10th Standard students. Before we start tuition most of the students failed on most of the subjects, now they are failed one (or) two subjects with moderate marks. Our Tuition is very useful for the students and also students want more tuition time. So, I met the Tuition master and told him to take one hour extended classes daily. He also agreed for this. I hope students can score good marks and pass all the subjects in the coming exams.

Dear Friends,

Yesterday (08-OCT-2006), We(Ravi Kumar.K(164), Siva Narayanan, Ravi Kumar.G, Gopal and myself) purchased Tex Books, Note Books and education stationeries for 61 Kadesh Childrens Happy Home students from Avenue Road, Bangalore.

In evening itself we distributed all the text books and some of the stationary to our students. Our home students are very happy Because of our Educational Support. They wished and prayed for India Sudar members for this support. After distribution, we spend some time with students to motivate and entertain (Singing).

Our Sincere thanks to our Members, Leads and Coordinators for this project work.

We need to THINK, PLAN, and WORK together to achieve our common goal. You all changed 61 POOR STUDENTS life !!!
