Project Report- Kolar

Dear friends,

The Indiasudar-KA team distributed stationery (writing material,pencils,pens etc) to students from Kolar taluk in Karnataka.

Indiasudar-KA team and IISc Notebook Drive conducted a survey in May 2009 for finalizing the schools that would be a part of IS Notebook drive ’09. Schools around Kolar District were included this year to expand our beneficiary list.

IS-KA team members Santhosh, Udhaya, Raghavendra, Ravi, Shiva, Sachin, Pradeep were involved in covering 5 schools listed below:
1. Basavanatha

2. Bovicolony, Kolar town

3. Kembodi

4. Shettykothanur

5. Chadumanahalli

Total of 500 students were benefited from Kolar District.

Our recent IS member Priyanka donated copy-writing books (from Subhas stores).

We supported the above schools because it is interiorly located and Trustable staff. The headmaster’s of the schools were genuine and honest.

Special thanks to Mr. Ravindra Kumar (LIC Contact), Mr Ramesh (Headmaster) who connected us to the school staff and local community.
Our sincere thanks to all school headmasters and school teachers.

Special thanks to all volunteers (both IISc and Indiasudar) for sorting and distribution of books & stationery. Looking forward for the same support in future.

The IS Karnataka Government School Adoption project 2009 for Chikkaballapur,Tumkur(Madhugiri) and Kolar District covers 2200 students and the overall cost is 1,05,590 .

KA School Adoption project : Visited 10 Govt schools in different rural villages of karnataka to donate note books and stationaries

Last weekend (5th July 2008, Saturday) was a very memorable weekend for may India Sudar KA team members and more than 1400 students in 10 rural villages of Karnataka. We all thoroughly enjoyed while executing this project.


 
India Sudar took survey from 10 different schools to understand their requirements like note books, stationary, text books and teachers.

The survey took place in two taluks in KARNATAKA (1) Madhugiri  and (2) Gowribidnaur during the April-May 2008.
 
Based on our survey results, we have visited all the 10 rural villages in these two taluks and distributed more than 7000 note books and stationary during last weekend. In this visit, there are 1400+ students got benefited directly.
 
The villages covered in Madugiri Taluk are : 
(1)Tippapura, 
(2)Adavinagenahalliganes,
(3)Muthrayanahalli,
(4)Ungra (It would be covered in this weekend)

The villages covered in Gowribidanur taluk are :
(1)Chikkakurugodu,
(2)Kudurebalya,
(3)Ramachandrapura,
(4)Kadirenahalli,
(5)Gedire,
(6)Halaganahalli,
(7)Kurubarahalli

India Sudar KA team worked as two separate teams to cover all the above villages in one day.
IS-KA-Team 1 (Madhugiri):
Raaghu, Tejaswini, Ram, Vinod, Reena Vinod, Sachin, Santhosh, LAP Rao (Prashant’s father), CVK and his brother

IS-KA-Team 2 (Gowribidanur):
Prashant, Manu, Manju , Udhay, Shiva, Chander Shekhar , Santhosh, Tejas and Ravi

India Sudar received contributions from below IS members for this project exclusively

Our Sincere thanks to IISC “Note Book Drive” folks for contributing school material for TWO schools. Looking forward for more partnered efforts in future.
 
Special thanks to Prashanth for his dedicated efforts to do survey in all the villages, find out a cheapest note book dealer, planning and preparation to execute this BIG project.
